Juultekent started simply because I like to draw, but while finding my way as an illustrator, I noticed I’m drawn to the elegant lines of animals and human bodies.

My main focus is body imagery, because it’s a fascinating subject, especially on a platform like Instagram. Using my own body as inspiration gave me a confidence boost, that’s when I knew I wanted to help people get that same feeling of admiration of their body.

Supporting people who feel good in their body and are proud of themselves is what I love to do.

This weekend, I’ll be joining ‘de Nacht tegen S*ksueel Geweld’. For many women and girls, the streets are not safe during the night. By walking 20km through Rotterdam we are raising money to help these women.

I’ve been a bit inactive lately because it doesn’t feel right to post positive when a lot of big things are shit. Still, I want to focus on the positives and do what I can (even if the impact is small).

Keep following and liking posts of creators who do good. Be aware of your intake on social media and give your time and attention to the right people (some posts or story’s are being shadow banned, liking and commenting does help! It’s okay if you don’t post if that’s not your thing, support the people who speak up)

Sometimes I have a hard time picking up my pencil to draw on paper as I’m always working digitally. But when I do, I love the textures and ‘happy accidents’.

Unfortunately we weren’t able to march for women*’s rights last Sunday. It’s still important to speak up since we still live in a world where men* and women* are not equal.

One of the many ways in which this is very clear is the restriction of female* nipples on Instagram. When Instagram suspects a nipple of a woman* on Instagram, the app deletes the post meanwhile men* are free to show the exact same body part.

As a society we need to stop sexualising the female* body and start treating it as it is: a human body.

The banning of female nipples is a small sign that shows this inequality. So free the fucking nipple already.
